Michael F Dzeda, MD

Radiation Oncology

Dr. Dzeda is a 1991 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He previously earned undergraduate degrees in both microbiology and zoology, and completed master's level course work and training in medical physics at Louisiana State University. Following an internship in the field of internal medicine, Dr. Dzeda left Louisiana State in 1992 to pursue a residency in radiation oncology at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., where he served as a chief resident in radiation oncology. He was awarded an American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Fellowship for his achievements in radiation oncology. Dr. Dzeda is board-certified in radiation oncology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology. He was also a selected reviewer for the American Journal of Clinical Oncology. He co-authored the chapter on radiation treatment of benign disease in the leading text of radiation oncology.

Dr. Dzeda serves in private practice and is part of the Christiana Care Medical-Dental Staff. He is on the Technology Management Committee at Christiana Care and at the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Health Policy Council. He served as Chairman and Vice-chairman for the Payers Relations Subcommittee, and currently is co-chair of the Health Policy Council. He has special interests in head and neck, gastrointestinal and skin malignancies. He is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), the American College of Radiation Oncology, the Medical Society of Delaware and the Delaware Society of Clinical Oncology.
